Stern Perkoski Mendez is proud to join other local businesses in support of Guitars Over Guns’ Chicago event, Band Together, which takes place on September 20 from 6 to 9 pm at Bridge 410 in Fulton Market.

The backyard chic evening celebrates community and collaboration. The event will feature award-winning barbecue as well as other local bites and brews, performances by Guitars Over Guns students and mentors, and an exciting silent auction.

Guitars Over Guns’ mission is to offer “students from our most vulnerable communities a powerful combination of music education and mentorship.” Through Guitars Over Guns programming, students “find their voice and reach their potential as tomorrow’s leaders.”

Band Together proceeds benefit the following local initiatives for the 2023/2024 school year:

• Implementing M-Power, a mental health and wellness initiative
• Supporting pilot programs in the Austin neighborhood and in partnership with the Juvenile Detention Center
• Camp GOGO, a week-long wilderness retreat and recording session in Lake Geneva for 8th grade students
