Matthew Bayens, Divorce & Family Law Attorney
Matthew Bayens is an associate divorce and family law attorney at Stern Perkoski Mendez.
Committed to providing diligent and compassionate service to his clients, Matthew discovered his interest in family law while interning and clerking at various public interest organizations. He provided much-needed legal services to low-income individuals and assisted clients in crafting and executing sustainable legal solutions for their unique family situations.
As an attorney at Stern Perkoski Mendez, Matthew is committed to ensuring clients understand the court process and are fully informed about their options—and he works to make those options a reality.
During law school, Matthew received two CALI Awards of Excellence for the highest grades in Legal Writing and Law and Poverty. Matthew also received various awards for his public interest work and served on the executive boards of student organizations focused on public interest, immigration and education law. Additionally, he completed a courthouse practicum in mediation, mediating a variety of cases in Cook County, including child support, breach of contract, consumer debt and landlord/tenant disputes.
Matthew joined Stern Perkoski Mendez in 2022 and is excited to bring his family law experience to a wide variety of clients at the firm.

Matthew received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He received his B.A. from Loyola University Chicago.

Matthew is admitted to practice law in Illinois. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. Matthew is also a mediator certified by the Center for Conflict Resolution.
